OUR TOUR TO ENGLAND

Between 25th July and 7th August 2011, 20 students from  9th and 10th grades have been to Frensham Heights School connected to Churchill House Summer Schools in Farnham, a town of England, to improve their English grammar, speaking, reading, comprehension and writing skills with the guidance of Deputy Principal, Erol Dede and the English teacher, Eda Avcı. The school’s physical condition was observed to be extremely safe in terms of the region it locates. Including our students, 117 students who are Russian, Spanish, French, and Italian participated in this programme. On the first day of school, our students took a proficiency test and  they were divided into classes according to their English levels, and they took courses accordingly.
According to the school’s programme, our students participated in lessons between the hours of 9:30 to 12:30, and in activities such as archery, cooking, dancing, painting, football, basketball, and gymnastics in the afternoons every day. In the performance nights, held in every Friday evening, our students exhibited short plays with their classmates by using the scenarios they wrote themselves and scenes with the help of teachers and they enjoyed themselves a lot.
Within the city tours, usually held on Wednesdays and Saturdays, we visited Portsmouth, Guildford, Oxford and London. Also, we visited the Windsor Castle which was built 900 years ago, went to the town of Greenwich and had a boat tour on the River Thames. In addition, we went to the town of Fulham and watched a premier league match.
